OCEAN Grovers felt Friday night’s earth tremor along with suburbs as far as Frankston on the other side of Melbourne.
Worried Melbourne residents have reported buildings shaking across the metropolitan area, say police.
Householders from Reservoir, in the city’s north, to Kew and Cheltenham, southeast of Melbourne, said they felt the tremor - which lasted a few seconds - shortly before 9pm.
So far there were no reports of any damage.
According to earthquake experts at the US Geological Survey the tremour measured 4.7 on the richter scale and struck about 7km west of Korumburra, Eastern Victoria at 8.55pm. That is about 120 km ESE of Geelong.
