GROVE musos are uniting for Haiti with a special concert this weekend.
And just like the superband fundraisers in the 80s, these top local formers will join together for their own We Are the World grand finale.
What is more the location – Ocean Grove Uniting Church – will add extra atmosphere to the event.
The event is being organised by John Bowman of the Piping Hot Chicken Shop and Uniting Church members Joan Calcutt and Lyn Mulligan – who along with the musicians are determined to do something to help the tragic victims of the Haiti earthquake.
John said that Joan and Lyn asked him if he could help organise a fundraising concert.
“Immediately I thought of the Blues Brothers mission to reform their band to raise funds to save their old orphanage. My email pleading for help was replied by many local musicians offering their services.
Encouraged by the music giants, our own local music stars will stage their own ‘Ocean Grove For Haiti’ fund raising concert ‘We Are The World’ at the Ocean Grove Uniting Church on Saturday February 13.
The line up for the event between 12noon and 6pm will be: 12noon: Jeremy Bennett; 12.40pm: Jill Meehan with Love and Light; 1.20pm: Judy Stickland and Zoran Bilogrevic
2pm: Howlin’ Wind; 2.40pm: Rose Bygraves; 3.20pm: Steve McEwan and the Yes Men; 4pm: The Rusties; 4.50pm: Paul and James Carrigg: 5.30pm: Sweet Delores: 6pm: Finale ‘We Are The World’.
