Ocean Grove CFA cooked up 26 kilos of sausages on Saturday morning - raising along wtih donations - $940 for the Children’s Ward at Geelong Hospital.
The funds will go to the Oncology Treatment room within Geelong Hospital’s Children’s Ward.
The room is used to provide treatment to children suffering from cancer and all of the profits from the sizzle will be added to those collected at Bronte’s Ball, which is held in October. The Ball, named after local cancer patient Bronte Russell, last year raised an amazing $33,000 towards the facilities to treat children with cancer locally.
Bronte’s Mum, Natalie, set up the Ball to raise funds for local services, after her own experiences of travelling to Melbourne for Bronte’s treatment.
Bronte’s Ball will take place on Saturday October 2.
Tickets are available from Barwon Health Foundation on 5260 3355.
