TWO local hairdressers faced off in the Chi Editorial Awards on July 26.
Salon Sojourn co-owner Jamie Whelan and apprentice Shelley Platt were two of the top ten finalists in Australia.
Shelley joked it was difficult for Jamie to be in competition with his apprentice.
“It’s intimidating for him, not for me,” she said.
The hairdressers entered the CHI MAN photographic competition where their male models had their hair cut, coloured, styled and finally photographed by Lyndal Hatfield.
Unfortunately they didn’t walk away with an award.
However Shelley said they were treated to cocktails whilst able to socialise at the prestigious event with other finalists from all over Australia.
